The Upa-Lokayukta of Andhra Pradesh has played a key role in ensuring justice and grievance redressal in a land acquisition compensation matter pertaining to Musunuru village in CS.Puram mandal of Prakasam district.
The complainant (C.No.1558/2023/B1) P. .Om Sivaiah, had alleged non-payment of compensation for Ac.1.72 cents of land acquired by NHAI for the Bangalore-Kadapa-Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-554G), and inaction by the District Collector. Upon intervention by Upa Lokayukta, the District Collector and Special District Collector (Land Acquisition), Prakasam submitted reports confirming the land as patta land, and facilitated deletion from the prohibited property list.
Necessary corrections were made to the revenue records, and the Project Director, NHAA, PIU Ongole, was directed to release compensation. An amount of Rs.20,11,645 was paid to the complainant by the Tahsildar of CS Puram. The complainant confirmed receipt of the compensation and expressed satisfaction with the action. This resolution showcases the proactive role of the Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta of Andhra Pradesh in ensuring transparency coordination with district authorities, and swift redressal of citizen grievances. An official release here stated that the complaint now stands closed as the grievance has been fully redressed.
